What's in Your Diet

For my health class we have to keep track of EVERYTHING we eat for five days. Then we have to calculate how many calories we intake and see if our diets are really as good as we think they are. I'm probably going to do this in the next week or so, but I'm interested to see how bad I really eat. So I'm issuing a challenge to everyone to keep track of everything you eat and drink, including water, then go to mypyramid.gov and figure out how you're doing. For those of you on the workout kick and all that good stuff it's just another way to help get your life healthier. I'm excited to see and then I'm really going to make an effort to change my eating habits. I thinking that seeing it will help me change. If you do this let me know if you were shocked and if you're going to change. Healthy People 2010 is our goal and it's fast approaching, so we need to get going.

It's a Pride Thing

We were having a lesson in Sunday School about pride. And when you say proud you are insinuating that you are better than something or something else. So Sister Crossley said to us Louisiana people doesn't it bother us when Texas people go off about how great they are, and then everyone jumped in and explain how this comment was true and how having Texas pride is the good kind of pride as opposed to the bad kind. FYI: It's all bad! It so was a horrible conversation.

It's So True

So I totally went to Vidor on Sunday and we totally got the speech about Texas being better than Louisiana. We also got the speech on how pride is not good, so those Texas people shouldn't be doing that...so ha! I think it's ok that you are glad to be from your state, just don't flaunt it to everyone else saying you're better. That's all I'm asking for.

You didn't express the same opinions about what?

I'm confused by your comment. You didn't express the same opinions about Texas and Louisiana? And then the comment just ended, I didn't get it. I'm slow. But it wasn't dark when I started wearing the glasses, I just don't take them off until I go to bed. Just habit I guess. So I was wearing them yesterday in the light, then it got dark, so I moved them to my head, and last night when I was getting ready for bed they finally came off. I actually don't even notice them anymore. By the way, if anyone didn't notice, this post mainly just for Sister Zachary. :)

Busy, Busy, Busy and Texas v. Louisiana

So I've had a very busy week this week. It was like the first real week of school, and I'm just trying to take it all in. I'm literally running from class to class, but I think it's going to be good in the end. I have this accounting class that I'm sure will kick my butt, but if it kicks mine then hopefully it'll kick everyone else's too and I won't fell as bad. History is kinda boring because it's purely lecture and the guy says "umm" way too much. Health is going to be fun, along with the weight training class. I believe accounting will be fun too, just a little hard that's all. Then there is work, the easiest job ever, I'm almost positive. I really like it because I'm stressed (not really) about school, so it's nice to have a job that I don't have to worry about. I can just do it and leave and there is no extra baggage with it. We had institute this week, and BWW afterwards, which is always a plus. And I had a meeting tonight. Kinda long, but all good. And I'm sure Sis. Zachary got a kick out of my sunglasses on my head. She's commented about them before. I think the best topic of conversation tonight was why Texas and Louisiana fight. The reason: Texas people are losers. Or maybe because they're the only surrounding state that Louisiana is really threatened of. I mean come one, Mississippi and Arkansas. Louisiana is totally better than those states combined. But Texas on the other hand does pose a threat. Or maybe it's just me, and growing up with all those Vidor people saying how much better than me they were really put a damper on things. Either way, the fight will go on, and Louisiana will always be better. And I got called to be the Ward Camp Director, and oh my gosh, it's a little overwhelming. You just don't throw a 22 year old into that position. But with a little help and a lot of prayer I think I'll do ok. I have all these callings in the ward that are preparing me for later life when I might have kids, so I best someday actually be getting married. Alright, are you tired of me rambling on yet? I was actually coming home to go to bed, so maybe I'll do that now. Good night.

Dreamgirls and the Saints

Now I realize that these two things have nothing in common, but I just wanted to talk about them. First off, tonight I went and saw Dreamgirls. I've been wanting to see this movie for a while now, and tonight I finally got my chance. Oh my gosh...Jennifer Hudson has got an amazing voice. No wonder she won the Golden Globe award, and she better win the Oscar. It was such a good movie. I enjoyed it. It's probably the best movie I've seen in a while, so everyone go check it out. But before you do that, tomorrow (Sunday) at 2pm the New Orleans Saints will be playing the Chicago Bears for the NFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl. Now I'm not really a Saints fan, but what they've done this year is really amazing. They basically took a team made up of rookies and guys who played on different teams last year, and a rookie head coach and made an amazing team. They gave hope to pretty much a whole state, not just New Orleans. They're a talented group of guys who deserve to be in the position they are in. Everyone keeps saying how it's great for New Orleans and the city and everyone, but I say screw the city. (I have my own opinion about New Orleans, but I won't go there.) I think everyone should be telling these guys good job and congratulating them on their accomplishments. I think it's a great thing they are doing for themselves. I'm sure these guys weren't little kids saying "oh, I want to win a super bowl for the city I play for". No, they want to win a super bowl for themselves, so I say let them. Focus on the team, the football team, and stop bringing in the city and the people of New Orleans. They aren't doing the hard work. So I say good luck New Orleans Saints on a great season and good luck tomorrow. Do it for yourselves!

School Daze

So yesterday was my first day of school. Going into it I technically only had two classes scheduled and I had to try and schedule four classes. I already had one teacher that said she would add me to I only had to try to be nice to three more people. One guy flat out told me no, I had to registar online. Well after long hours in front of the computer I was finally able to add all the classes I needed and wanted. Yeah me. In the end it all worked out and that is great. Now all I have to worry about is buying books. And I started this 15-day Exercise Challenge with MaryRuth, but should I tell her that I have a weight training class, so am I kinda cheating? It's not so hard for me to get in the time. Oh well, it's still good. Anyway, 50 cent boneless at BBW today, so I'm going out to lunch. And there is this new girl in the ward and she's super cool. Alright, I'm out.

School Starts Tomorrow!

So all the schools in Lafayette Parish are closed tomorrow except for mine. So it's ok that I might die? Oh well, I'll drive careful. I'm going to leave extra early in the morning so I'll make it on time and not have to hurry. I technically only have 1 class scheduled so I have to convince 4 teachers to let me in their class tomorrow. Pray for me that I'll be able to get in. Hopefully I will. Alright. I'm going to watch SVU then go to bed so I'll be well rested.
Side notes: American Idol started today and finally a new Gilmore Girls next week.
And if y'all are wondering, my job is excellent. It's like the easiest job ever, no lie, so it's really fun. And I'm joining Mary Ruth on this 15-day workout challenge. Hopefully I can do it. I think my problem is that I don't have a problem working out, but it's what I eat that is "weighing me down". Alright, wish me luck with school tomorrow.

I want to go swimming

So for about a week now I've had this uncontrollable urge to go swimming, but it's the middle of January. There has got to be an indoor pool somewhere right? And swimming is seriously like the best workout ever. I love it. Maybe I'll go swimming, if my swimsuit even fits. And last week I lost my camera and I've been frantically searching for it for like a week and Amanda was all like you'll find it and all, and you know where I finally found it after tearing up EVERYTHING I own...AMANDA'S CAR. And last night was night two at my new home, and I haven't been sleeping very well. So I'm lying there at like 12:30 (then still around 3, but this happened at 12:30) and I heard this noise like something went running by the window, then, seconds later the cats starting fighting in the front then the one was yelling and I just had to laugh because I thought it would be so great if they all decided to finally run away, but then my grandma would be sad so maybe that wouldn't be a good idea. I start my new job today. Woohoo. And check out Camp ASCCA. This is where I want to work over the summer because I think it'll be the best learning experience ever. Ok, I'm going now. Happy Monday.

Hey There

So only one person really reads this, and to their demand I'll go ahead and update. Happy New Year. It's been a while. I got a new job and I start Monday. I'll be working in the deli at Albertson's. Doesn't that sound like fun? I'm about to move out of my camper and into my aunt's house. That'll probably take place on Saturday. I finished last semester with some good grades, but I don't have the money to go to school this semester, so I have to sit out. Kinda sucks because it's what I really want to do but my dad felt he had better things to do with his money and time, so that's why I officially hate my dad. I applied to work at this camp this coming summer, and the way things are going now it looks like I'll get the job, so I'm super excited about that. I probably did a lot of things and I probably have a few pictures to post, but they are on my other computer right now. I went to New Orleans back in December to watch Sulphur play in the state championship game, and that was pretty cool. What else is going on? Other than that I pretty much just sit at home and do nothing. It's a good life all in all. I promise I'll update more.
